The Department strongly promotes extra-curriculum activities of the students. IR Foreign Policy Club (IRFPC), IR Photography & Film Society (IRPFS), IR Debating Club (IRDC), IR English Language & Communications Club (IRELCC) and  IR Cultural Club (IRCC). IR Cultural Club registers the area(s) of specialization of the students in different types of extra-curriculum activities such as music, play/drama, dancing, debating, sports, poem recitation, presentation, volunteering, event management, computer, designing (art), photography, publications, writings and others alike. Students of the department also runs several study groups: i.e. Neighbourhood Study Group, Gender Cluster, Refugee Study Group, SAARC Study Group and so on.
